Fountaine Pajot steps up development in response to strong demand for its catamarans
While Fountaine Pajot catamarans are a huge success, the construction site is facing production limits to meet high demand.
Despite the massive investments already made a few years ago in order to expand their production area in Aigrefeuille d'Aunis, the lead time for the purchase of a catamaran, particularly a sailing yacht, is around 2 years or more.
Fountaine Pajot joins forces with Couach to produce Motor Yachts
This is why Fountaine Pajot today announced that it has entrusted the production of its motor catamarans (Motor Yachts range) to the Couach yard.
This will enable us to continue developing the engine range, and free up a additional production space at the Fountaine Pajot production site in La Rochelle.
Teams from both sites are working in synergy to prepare for this construction handover and guarantee impeccable quality.
Boat subcontracting Motor Yachts Fountaine Pajot from Couach will start in October 2022 on dedicated production lines, for delivery from November 2022.
The advantages of the Couach shipyard for Fountaine Pajot production
Fountaine Pajot chose Couach for the production of its power catamarans because the shipyard is renowned for a number of reasons:
- her know-how in quality powerboats,
- her expertise in composites more respectful of the environment,
- and its the ability to take on a construction project of this scalewith 250 employees in 21 specialised nautical professions.

Florent Battistella, CEO of Couach, welcomed this new collaboration between the two shipyards. This synergy promises to be long-lasting, in a sector that is booming.
It will enable Couach to confirm the excellence of its industrial expertise and continue to consolidate its development.
The Couach shipyard is based in Gironde, France, and has been producing boats of up to 50m in length since 1897.
