Recently, interest in fast, sporty outboards has risen sharply, and Dromeas is attracting more and more attention.
The result of a collaboration between the Turkish shipyard Dromeas and the nautical designer Adam Younger, the Dromeas D28CC is a superb model, with interesting performances, at well thought-out details and solid equipment. And all at great value for money!
The hull of the D28CC is designed in a deep V shape with a double redan. It gives the boat a smooth, comfortable ride.
As its name suggests, the D28CC, unlike the other two Dromes models D28WA and D28SUV, features a centre console fitted out with three folding seats with a high seat.
The driver has a footrest to keep you firmly in place, and the advanced steering wheel provides a good grip close to the body. The windscreen provides good protection against sea spray. For added comfort, there are cupholders and a small enclosed storage area on the left-hand side of the console where you can stow your accessories to make sure they don't move.
The console can be fitted with a wide range of options to tailor it to your needs. In particular, you can opt for a thruster, which although not absolutely necessary on a 28-footer, can be practical depending on the conditions.
As for the optional hard-topIt is solidly anchored and has a good hold while sailing.
With its high edges and lanes, the Dromeas D28CC is ideal for easy and safe on-board circulation. There are also cleats at the stern, in the middle and at the bow.
The interior of the boat stays dry thanks to the drains at the stern.
The front bench seat and table provide convivial lounge area. The bench seat is comfortable, with a good height to support your back. The table, which can be set up on 2 legs, is folding, and under its tops there is a ramp as well as a place for glasses when it is raised - a detail, admittedly, but very useful at sea!
A seat is fitted to the front of the centre console to allow access to the front lounge. It conceals the entrance to the toilet cubicleIt can be opened by tilting the seat upwards, and closed using the inside handle on the top. There is also access to the technical areas (electricity, pump, plumbing).
With hooks on the front of the boat and on the roof of the centre console, you can provide shade to protect this area of the boat.
The space under the front seats has been optimised by generous storage. Simply remove the long cushions to open the trunks with their retaining jacks. The interior material is pleasantly smooth.
On the forepeak is the jack-up anchor locker, with its electric windlass, which holds the anchor to the bow of the hull.
The rear section has been designed to be modifiable to suit your own needs. Visit 3 double folding benches are ideal for arranging space as you see fit. Whether you're out at sea for a stroll, water sports or fishing, you can design the space as you wish.
Various lockers are located around the stern of the boat. The aft locker provides access to the bilge pumps. On the side, a locker can be used to store live bait.
