5 years ago, Emmanuelle and Thierry decided to buy a LUCIA 40 sailing catamaran from Canet Boat Plaisance. Fountaine Pajotfor which we are dealers.
They set off on an adventure this year, with the Rallye des Iles du Soleil, and share with us their arrival on Marie-Galante, as well as their opinion of their boat.
An exhilarating and human adventure
Safety and organisation were top of the agenda, which they really appreciated. They were supervised throughout the rally, before, during and after. This organisation allowed them to feel safe and part of a real family.
Indeed, the Rallye des Iles du Soleil is not just a sailing experience, but also a human adventure. The crews have forged some wonderful friendships. Emmanuelle and Thierry set off as mere acquaintances, but after a month together they became real friends with the other members of their crew. The close proximity on board created strong bonds, allowing them to get to know each other intensely.
A landmark arrival in Marie-Galante
The arrival in Marie-Galante was an unforgettable moment. The organisers' boat welcomed the participants in the early hours of the morning. On land, the warm welcome from the locals and the festivities left precious memories.
The island won over participants with its beauty and tranquillity. Its superb bays made for a memorable experience.
The Lucia 40, an ideal catamaran for adventure
For Emmanuelle and Thierry, the Lucia 40 has been an invaluable ally during this crossing. They really like their boat, which they find seaworthy, fast and easy to handle, and which gives them confidence.
Investing in a spinnaker proved to be unnecessary: the boat's basic configuration, supplemented by a gennaker, is more than sufficient. The spinnaker remains a pleasant option, but not essential.
This unique experience, both in human and nautical terms, has left some precious memories.
For them, the Rallye des îles du Soleil was much more than just a crossing: it was a real adventure that reinforced their passion for sailing.
Well done to Emmanuelle and Thierry, and thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!
