The Bayliner VR5 BR (Bowrider) is the successor to the Bayliner 185 BR. It is available in both inboard and outboard versions.
Bayliner, an American manufacturer, is renowned worldwide for its innovative boats. Their reputation is well established, and while the brand could be content to rest on its laurels, it continues its efforts to perfect its models.
While boats always evolve a little over time, the VR5 BR has undergone some truly significant changes. That's why it won an Innovation Award in Miami when it was launched.
The VR5 BR's performance is excellent, with a boat that literally eats up the waves at 4,000 rpm, thanks to its streamlined hull.
Many features have been improved, right down to the smallest detail.
For a start, the space is so much greater that you could almost fit the old 185 into the VR5. The width at the front of the boat is greater than other boats of this length.
Like all other Bayliner models, the Bayliner VR5 Bowrider has plenty of storage compartments, whether under the front seats, on the side of the console, in the cockpit floor, or under the rear saloon benches.
The details are always improved, like the water ski box with jack opening and gelcoat finish.
The cockpit is fully equipped. The pilot's seat is adjustable and can be turned towards the rear cockpit.
The rear cockpit has a large L-shaped bench seat. It can be enlarged with the co-pilot's backrest, which tilts in the opposite direction to create a more comfortable bench seat, and can even fold away completely at seat level to provide extra space.
Thanks to the cockpit drain, unlike the 185 BR, the Bayliner VR5 BR is a self-bailing boat.
Behind the cockpit is a large sundeck. By folding back the right-hand side, you can move from the cockpit to the aft platform. There's even a storage locker with drainage underneath.
